UPDATE: This problem has now been fixed. Sony has announced that all PlayStation units affected by this bug (that's every unit other than the new Slim model) should be working properly. Ubisoft Announces Record First Week Numbers for Assassin’s Creed II

On November 24th, Ubisoft released its own internal numbers suggesting that Assassin's Creed II sold over 1.6 million units worldwide in only its first week. This is around a 32% sales increase over 2007's original Assassin's Creed, which sold just over 1 million copies.
