I think we had some gremlins playing around with this week's podcast since we have a bit of an audio problem in our newest episode. Most of the show sounds fine, but Neal's track seems muted. If you listen really really hard, you can make out what he says as the audio gets picked up on our other mics. However, the sound quality of the show is far less than ideal, and for that I apologize. I'm ... more. -

It's a moody podcast for a moody movie -- both of which are intended in a good way. This week we're watching The Proposition (2005), a Western-styled tale of loyalty, violence, and many other things set in the beautiful Australian outback. This often overlooked film is remarkable in just about every way: acting, story-telling, cinematography, directing, score, etc. If you haven't already seen... more. -

Oh, how time flies! Remember those late-90s, with all the chaos and unrest and urban island penitentiaries? Remember when our president was British and was the head of Spectre? Wait, I'm confusing my references now. But re-watching Escape from New York for the first time since one's childhood will do that. Gone are the days of my ignorant youth, when I considered Kurt Russel a bad ass and sig... more. -

Break out your denim jackets and trim up those mullets. We are re-experiencing the golden age of arcade game competition this week as we watch The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters. Seth Gorden's sneakily engrossing documentary about the oft overlooked underground of retro game competition made waves when it released a couple years ago, and it is no less interesting to those of us Death Fister... more. -

We're back, and we have a good one for you this week. We're watching V for Vendetta, the often ignored and underrated (not by geeks) movie from the Wachowski brothers and director James McTeigue, who has brought us other fine movies such as. . . well, V for Vendetta. We hope you're inspired to start your own personal liberation movement after listening to this show. I know I was. (I only now... more. -

We're talking about The Toxic Avenger this week, a romantic tale of growth and running over defenseless children. And since those are two of our most favorite things in the world, you can bet we're excited to talk at great length about the wonders that can be found in Troma films. Next week we are watching V for Vendetta, a movie that blows stuff up. Enjoy the show!... more. -

We made a podcast starring me, and me, and me! This week we're talking about The Great Muppet Caper. We take a stroll down nostalgia lane (lame, I know), and reunite with Kermit, Miss Piggy, Animal, The Great Gonzo, and all the other Jim Henson puppets. Assignment: Next episode we are watching The Third Man, the classic mystery/thriller. It's a good movie. Watch it. You'll thank yo... more. -

This week we're watching the Marx Brothers' comedy classic Duck Soup. The title is a little misleading (like most Marx Bros. movies) in that it neither features ducks nor soup nor any variation thereof. The movie is full of physical gags, quick-witted humor, mistaken identity, never-ending pockets, blow torches, false mirrors, doorbells, a kitchen sink, and Groucho with a Tommy Gun. What could ... more. -

Our October horror extravaganza is wrapping up with Event Horizon, the space haunted house freak-fest (and Paul W. S. Anderson's best film thus far). Join us as we explore the film's morbid gore, eerie setting, and spiky. . . spikes. Since we've just spent an entire month watching horror movies, we are turning next to a comedic classic to lighten things up a bit. Next week we are watching the... more. -

Our month long horror fest is winding down as we watch our last comparative film pairing for the month of October: The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Join us as we discuss the similarities and differences between the original Tobe Hooper version and the 2003 remake from Marcus Nispel. It's already been a pretty gory month, but next week's finale takes the cake. For our final installment in our Oct... more.
