There are other aggregate review websites out there, and other sites that summarize a game’s critical reception, but most of them do not really capture what the reviewer meant to say.  They just look at the final score and fit that into an algorithm that does not capture the reviewer’s true analysis on a game.  We read game reviews from every major video game review website and magazine, pull quotations that accurately summarize the reviewers opinions of a game (if we find quotes are too similar to each other, we’ll pull quotes that analyze a different aspect of a game), indicate the reviewer’s score for the game, then we translate all that information into our own grading system.  We don’t just look at the score; we take the whole package into consideration when making our aggregate score.  We also provide you links to the full review on each excerpt we include so you can read each one for yourself and come to your own conclusions of whether you should spend your hard earned money a new game or not.  Also, if the owner of the review does not agree with our translation, we will change it to better reflect their opinions.  The original writer only needs to contact us to ask us to alter our Translated Score to better reflect what they tried to get across in their game review.

This, we feel, is a much more personal and accurate way to compile aggregate reviews.  Of course, you can always read our exclusive reviews to see what our own editors think about a game.  However, we think that it is often better to look at several different perspectives before making a final decision to buy or rent a game, or to just pass it over entirely.
