Wizards of the Coast, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hasbro, announced today that they are opting not to renew their license with Lucasfilm, Ltd., which means the end of the Star Wars roleplaying game and miniatures lines. Given the financial investment George Lucas continues to hold in Hasbro, as well as the expected high price tag for licensing such a powerhouse property, gamers are not advised to hold their breath waiting for another game company to attempt to pick up the lines.
