Yeah, so remember yesterday when I said that I was a little underwhelmed over Day 1 of Origins? Well, that was replaced by dizzying awe with the games, people, and general variety of different types of gaming experiences to be had.
It was a long second day. I arrived at the convention center around 8:00 AM, and I didn’t leave until well after 8:00 PM. I only sat down for two demos and lunch, the rest of the day I was scurrying from place to place, booth to booth–mostly just trying to find where I had to be. Having a gameplan was only mildly helpful, as I still found it maddening trying to find my event’s table amidst a sea of geeks and cardboard, or geeks wearing cardboard depending on who I saw.
I didn’t get to see everything I had planned on yesterday. My Day 2 itinerary was pretty much shot to hell after the first couple hours. I just did my best cramming as many games into a relatively short amount of time as I could. Incidentally, I’m a little behind on my articles. I couldn’t find much time during the day to write the articles I hoped, so the content is going to be a little backed up for while longer. I plan on writing the more high profile reviews and previews first, then getting to the other games later this week and into next. Think of it as an extension of Origins beyond even the substantial five days of the event. Prolonged geeky goodness is a good thing, after all.
Okay, I’m going to stop writing now. I realize only every other sentence makes a lick of sense. I need to re-energize for another grueling, but fun, day tomorrow.
